Memorial Day takes place this Monday, May 28th. But the celebration starts today. Many people already began their journey to the Jersey Shore in search of sun and fun. While the sun may be a little “iffy”, temperatures stay nice, with expected highs in the 70’s all weekend long. Here’s a list of the Jersey Shore Memorial Day weekend 2018 events you might want to attend.

Atlantic City Events
Beach Ball Drop – The Boardwalk’s abuzz with activity this weekend. Resorts Casino begins hosting their Memorial Day weekend party at 10 am. It includes a live broadcast from WMMR, strolling street performers, giveaways, contests, games, and so much more. But the highlight will definitely be the Beach Ball Drop at 5 pm tonight (May 25th). Watch more than 5000 beach balls of various sizes and shapes come tumbling down the Boardwalk. Then head to Margaritaville or LandShark for a bite to eat and something to drink.
Boardwalk Block Party – Starting this weekend, visit the Tropicana at 9 pm on any Saturday through September 8th for a free fireworks show. But this Saturday in particular, they’re hosting their Boardwalk Block Party. Free to the public, guests enjoy live music and entertainment, delicious samplings of food from the casino’s own restaurants, and a multimedia light and sound show unlike any other.
Mays Landing Events
Toy Show – Bring the kiddos to Fairpoint Toys & Collectibles (5113 Harding Hwy) in Mays Landing for a free toy show on Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm. Dozens of vendors sell the latest and greatest toys for kids of all ages.
Car Cruise – Head to historic Smithville tonight (May 25th) for a classic car cruise from 5 pm to 8 pm. Admission is free.
Memorial Day Service – On Memorial Day itself, visit the Greater Absecon Island VFW Post 215 (601 N Dorset) for a special Memorial Day service. Pay your respects to those who gave their all for our country. The entire event takes place from 11 am to 1 pm. After the service, enjoy light refreshments while you take a tour of the VFW.
Kite Festival – Visit the Wildwood Convention Center for the annual kite festival from 8 am to 8 pm this entire weekend. If you’ve never been to one, it’s a definite “must see”. And definitely don’t miss the night flight! Super fun and free for everyone.
