This weekend marks the last Jersey Shore farmers market of the year. To send off the season right, Brigantine’s farmers market accepts Hurricane Harvey donations. Everything collected directly benefits the people affected by Hurricane Harvey.

The Jersey Shore farmers market in Brigantine will be accepting donations of all kinds for Hurricane Harvey at its final market of the season on Sept 2nd.

Search homes for sale at the Jersey ShoreIt’s been five years since Hurricane Sandy. And we’re still dealing with its aftermath today. So who better than Jersey Shore residents to understand the devastation something like Hurricane Harvey created?

Ventnor City already accepted donations for Hurricane Harvey victims at their last market of the season today. If you missed that, visit Brigantine’s farmers market on Saturday, September 2nd. Between 8:30am and 12pm, they’ll accept any aid you wish to provide.

What is Needed

  • Non-perishable food items
  • Diapers (adult and infant)
  • Formula
  • Dog and cat food
  • Pet bowls
  • Bottled water
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Toiletries
  • Clothing (larger sizes are always appreciated)
  • Blankets, sleeping bags
  • Story books or coloring books with crayons
  • Board games, cards, etc.

Remember, many people are without power right now. If you donate canned food items, please make sure they are easily opened. Otherwise, you may want to include a few hand powered can openers with your donation.

Other Ways You Can Donate to Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

Can’t make it to a Jersey Shore farmers market this weekend? Still want to help? You can text a quick $10 donation to either Salvation Army (text STORM to 51555) or the American Red Cross (text HARVEY to 90999). Also, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner suggests the official Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. The United Way of Greater Houston offers immediate as well as long term assistance for victims of Hurricane Harvey. You can either visit their website to donate online or text UWFLOOD to 41444.

When disaster strikes, there is no such thing as a small donation. Every bit helps. Even if we all just donated $5 each, think of the good that can be done with that total?
