In just four days, we celebrate our nation’s independence. For many, that means BBQ with friends and family. Your day should definitely end with the official 2017 Margate July 4th fireworks show, though. Why? Because it’s free and lots of fun for the whole family.
2017 Margate July 4th Fireworks Celebration
Fireworks at the beach. Where else would it take place when you live at the Jersey Shore? The 2017 Margate July 4th fireworks show will blast off after dark (around 9pm). But, you’ll want to get to Huntington Ave Beach a bit earlier. It gets busy. Bring a blanket and lawn chairs for your comfort.
While the 2017 Margate July 4th fireworks makes a great ending to the day, how will you fill up the time before? How a barbecue? The City of Margate allows grilling right on the beach throughout the entire 4th of July weekend. Spend the entire day at the beach and then stay for the fireworks after the sun goes down. Propane and alcohol are strictly prohibited. And please make sure to clean up after yourself. Put trash in the receptacles provided or bag it and take it with you. Keep our Jersey Shore beaches clean!
Other Jersey Shore 4th of July Events
Want something a little different to do on the 4th? Visit the Absecon Lighthouse. Their “Summer of Atlantic City Inlet Storytelling” event takes place at the lighthouse all day long. And it’s absolutely free of charge.
If you decide to make a day of it in Atlantic City, stay for the fireworks. Unlike other Jersey Shore cities, you have two shows to see. Borgata offers the first show of the night in the Marina District at 9pm. The last show can be seen at the Tropicana right on the historic Atlantic City Boardwalk at 10pm.
Whatever way you decide to spend the 4th of July, please be safe. Keep pets at home. Their senses are much more heightened than ours. Loud noises and large crowds scare even the calmest of animals. For their sake and the safety of those around you, leave them to the safety of the comfort in your Jersey Shore home.
