Thousands of “Parrotheads” swarmed Atlantic City beaches last year just to listen to Jimmy Buffet and his band play. This encouraged City officials to open up the calendar for several other acts this year. Even more Atlantic City summer concerts are planned for 2017 at the beach and at Bader Field.
Atlantic City Summer Concerts 2017
In their current deal, Live Nation hosts concerts with big name acts throughout the summer. This year marks the second year of their three-year contract. However, they might not be the only fish in the pond this year. More Atlantic City summer concerts could be making their way to the Arkansas Ave beach as well as Bader Field. That’s because two new promoters petitioned for City licenses to host concerts of their own.
Songbird Entertainment wishes to utilize Bader Field for three separate concerts (in May, June and August) and a three-day festival in July. They would also like to use the Arkansas Ave beach location for at least one concert in August. A second promoter, Extraordinary Entertainment, put their request in for beach concerts in mid-August as well. The actual performers for the Atlantic City Summer Concerts 2017 have not officially been announced.
As you are probably aware, Bader Field was part of the Atlantic City Municipal Airport until it closed back in 2006. It went up for sale to MUA late last year. Allowing more Atlantic City summer concerts to come to Bader Field will help attract more tourists to the area. In turn, this will help bring more money to our region.
Jersey Boyz Productions puts on the Garden State Country Music and Food Truck Festival later this year (September 30th and October 1st) at Bader Field. Tickets for that go on sale next Saturday, April 22nd. The musical line-up should be announced on April 20th.
